Grand Canyon Conservancy

I collaborated with the folks at the Grand Canyon Conservancy, the official nonprofit partner of Grand Canyon National Park, on a visitor sign that featured the park massage and large donor wall. One of the key criteria was to design a sign panel system that would allow for swift updates and build it so that the onsite maintenance crew could install it themselves. I designed around a pre-existing a sign holder made from exposed steel posts and space for three panels made from aluminum composite material that is sustainable and integrates well into the northern Arizona environment. The donor panel was designed to expand over time as the list of donors grew and is mounted onto the center backing substrate, first surface, using simple off the shelf hardware. This design makes it easy to replace the donor list whenever it is needed. The system has worked well and this year marked the 4th donor refresh that was printed and installed by the on-site crew.
